THE LIST

WHY YET ANOTHER LIST?

BECAUSE AMERICA, WE HAVE A PARITY PRODUCTION PROBLEM.

BECAUSE SO MANY OF OUR WORDS AND WORLDS ARE WOUNDED, SILENCED, CAGED.

BECAUSE IT'S ALL IN THE CONTEXT, THE FRAMING, HOW WE LEARN TO READ OUR LIVES.

BECAUSE IF WE WISH OUR WORDS AND WORLDS TO SURVIVE WE HAVE TO OPEN
OUR LANGUAGE'S EYES

BECAUSE
PAPER GODS
CAN BURN
WHEN
WORLDS
AND
WORDS
CATCH
FIRE
ABOUT

LISTS. Playwright lists. Author lists. List lists. So I’ve been thinking on All The Lists of All The Worthy Words. See my words and me, we hue a bit more blue with each new exclusion but we understand we will never be what pleases list cartographers b/c we are quiet strange wild and there are So Many Wondrous Worthy Words.
SO WE
– that would be my words and me –
MADE OUR OWN LIST!
In part so we could hang out with So Many Wondrous Worthy Words. And, you know. Be a bit more Real.
Be Listed.
It’s a play, actually – The List – a brand-new impossible shiny first draft toy of a play. It’s called The Academy b/c it made us giggle something fierce to dream on a Women+ Words Warrior one day saying “I’D LIKE TO THANK THE ACADEMY”. Women+ Words Warriors’ names and the titles of one or more of their works are worked into the character’s dialogue as shout-outs or elsewhere in the play. Hopefully the names and titles will be projected during a hypothetical future production of the play. Words can dream.
There’s AN APPENDIX OF WOMEN+ WORDS.
It’s supposed to be handed out to the hypothetical ‘never gonna happen b/c did we mention the play is impossible’ audience. Words can dream. BTW "Women+" as a term is intended here to include folx who identify as female or NB (H/t Women+ in Theater - WiT - a FB group).

PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR THE ACADEMY WOMEN+.
PLEASE SEEK OUT THESE AND OTHER WORKS BY THESE FOLX. THESE WORKS ARE MOSTLY PLAYS. PLEASE READ, DEVELOP & PRODUCE THESE PLAYS.
A PS TO THE ACADEMY WOMEN+:
Please let me know if there are errors updates questions or if you do not wish to be included in The Academy - list or play. For those who wish to stay, I'd love pronunciation of your name for the TBD first reading.
